Sikh Sangat Society, Boston provides the following opportunities for seva, volunteering and learning. The following list includes upcoming projects by the Society:

Ongoing Seva Projects:

  • Sunday Khalsa School
    • Children are taught Gatka, Gurmukhi and Kirtan
    • 11AM – 1PM
  • Friday Evening Khalsa School
    • Children are taught Gurmukhi, Nitnem practice and Veechar, and Gurmat living
    • 7PM – 8:30PM
  • Keertan classes are conducted by visiting Raagi Jathas for children and adults.

We also regularly host student groups and individuals interested in learning about the Sikh faith. Visiting group demographics vary from middle and high school students to graduate level students studying theology or even other disciplines. Additionally, we also welcome individuals interested in learning about the faith regardless of their race, gender, orientation or other defining characteristic.

Please note that Sikhi is not a proselytizing faith. While we welcome and encourage people to visit the Gurdwara Sahib, there is no pressure towards donations, memberships, or anything else. People are welcome to visit and partake in the services and langar (community meal) without obligation, and per their preference.

If you would like to visit the Gurdwara Sahib and speak with someone during your visit, please reach out to us at info@bostonsikhsangat.com so we can arrange for someone to welcome and receive you.

Projects in the Past:

  • Bone Marrow Drives
  • Support for homeless shelters
  • Free Immigration Advice
  • Tax Help Events

Additionally, Chhabeels (community events in honor of Guru Arjan Dev, 5th Guru of the Sikhs) are held every year in the month of June in Boston, Somerville, Everett or other neighboring cities and towns. Please subscribe to our email notifications to remain updated on the next such event.

Please check back for details and updates on each of the projects. If you need information regarding any of the projects, please email us at info@bostonsikhsangat.com. We look forward to your participation and support in these Projects.
